The Denkavit group was founded in 1971 by W.A Pesh and specializes in the manufacture and application of high-quality products for the nutrition of young animals. The group’s main activities are the manufacture of milk replacers and specialized feed for young animals (mainly calves and lambs).
Denkavit‘s headquarters and main factory are located in Voorthuizen, the Netherlands. The great success of Denkavit‘s products throughout the world has resulted in the creation of 4 other companies in the center of Europe, more specifically in France (2 companies), Italy and Germany. The products are manufactured under the highest quality standards in Voorthuizen, where the export department is also based. The remaining production plants also have their own laboratory equipment.
The basic principle of Denkavit company is the extensive research. Each product before release is subjected to full control, long-term research and laboratory studies in the central laboratories as well as in the central research station, so as to ensure its high quality. The company’s experimental stations and research units deal exclusively with composition tests and nutritional programs. The tests are done on digestibility, while there is also an experimental calf rearing unit which has about 600 animals, while there are still three experimental farms in different parts of the Netherlands. Even in France there is a research station with 1,300 dairy calves. In total Denkavit employs 400 people in the Netherlands, while its products are available in more than 40 countries around the world, including Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Korea.
